Brand and Website Creation

Background: I have a deep passion for type, so I wanted to build an operational website where I could sell custom typefaces that I create. Since sophomore year of college, I have found joy in creating type, so this project combined branding, UI/UX, and a healthy amount of type design to bring the idea to life.

Brand System

Brainstorm: Even from the name, ideas for Rad Fonts came extraordinarily easy to me. Ideation was more like daydreaming, as I spent many months with the plan of designing and selling my own typefaces rolling around in my head. I found that throughout the process, this years-in-the-making background gave an interesting underlying idea of the end result, while still allowing for flexibility.

The logo: What’s a type foundry without a custom typeface? Rad Type was another idea born from a dream, with the blocky letters stuck in my brain as I woke up one morning. From there, I created a display typeface on Glyphs, building each letterform with angular precision and thick, bold strokes.
