Color Pop started in the same way many products do: with a completely different name, lacking any real inspiration. With exploration (and advice from others), aspects of the logo started to reveal themselves, particularly the inclusion of a single piece of popcorn.
From there, I took the sketches online and worked through some interations. It was there that inspiration struck in the form of duotones and thick outlines: pop art. Trying to stick with almost a comic book style, the name changed and the logo started to look more familiar.
Unfortunately, the original document was in RGB (you only make that mistake once), so after some more color exploration and stylization, Color Pop finally found the bold personality it had been lacking, and now had a logo capable of establishing a larger brand.
And finally, the color palette expanded, and a new spotlight pattern was created to act as a secondary against the halftone. With the shadow underneath the text, the words quite literally pop off the page, adding to the layers of stylization within the primary logomark.
