The most difficult part of this task was the ideation. Starting from an extensive list of “national days,” I tried to incorporate the letters into a scene that would represent the holiday. As I kept the typical styles of a Google doodle in mind, some ideas took shape, either replacing letters with other objects or hiding them into the image itself.
And still, as you can see, a lot of these ideas didn’t make it beyond the sketchbook. With other holidays to choose from, I ended with the 10 that best fit with the brand that users are expecting when they open a new tab.
